Literary Analysis

  Freedom is the escape from control and pain . freedom is a great theme and is present in these two  storys.In the Count Of Monte Cristo  where edmond is confined in a jail with no hopw unrtil he finds a prisoner is next to himand Blessings  is where two charchaters climb a mountain to escape the confiment of peoples thoughts.Both explore the theme of freedom in different ways.

      First, The theme of Freedom is present in The Count Of Monte Cristo.Edmond dantes is a prisoner that feels that there is no hope until he finds a prisoner next to him trying to escape.  One example is in paragraph 17”It is a prisoner”. In this instance he feels that he can have freedom something that he has lost.  Another example is in paragraph 15 “Full of hope Edmond swallowed a few mouthfulls of bread.” This explains  that he was going to starve himself and die until he knew there was a prisoner trying to escape. This gives edmond hope that he can escape this torture.   The story The count of monte cristo supports the theme of freedom and escaping confinement

    Second,  Blessings  is about Rene and Jese and how they can be themselves on the mountain.In paragraph 25 it states that “Man,I’ve got to bring my pants up here”.this demonstrates on how Rene feels confined on peoples thought that she can’t be her self.On the mountain she feels freedom and she can be herself. The final example is in paragraph 55 where she says “Being by myself,I understand me when everybody is lost.” This illustrates that the only way Rene can be herself is when she is alone. She feels freedom when she's by herself and now she can be herself.

   In conclusion, Freedom is an amazing thing that some people are not  able to obtain and is present in the Count of Monte  Cristo and Blessings. People in America are unaware of the greatest gift of freedom so be thankful for what you have and how ,many people die for it so people can have it.
