Literary Analysis

The Count of Monte Cristo and Blessing explore the theme of freedom in different ways. Freedom in my opinion is the ability to be escape reality and be able to be yourself without the judgement of others. It’s some of the things people do that they’re able to make everybody and all their worries disappear. Everybody has their own methods of being free and escaping reality. Some people paint, write, play a sport, dance, sing, listen to music, or something else. I know I like to go on my Jet ski, listen to music, or play soccer. It’s my moment of relief. All of my stress slowly drifts away. In Blessings, Rene’s way of relieving stress is painting and Jesse’s is writing. 
In Blessings by Mary Hall Surface, Rene has his own way of being mentally free. With no worries. He paints. In section 25 Rene says, “Man, I’ve got to bring my paints up here.” In that paragraph when Jesse asks him what type of paint he paints that I can tell that when he paints with watercolor, he let’s all of his emotion out with just one brush and a couple of water colors. That’s what I’ve done and what I’ve seen many famous/non-famous artists do. It relaxes

In The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, Edmond Dantes, an imprisoned man,  hears a noise late at night that wakes him up from his slumber. Being in prison for so many years, he thinks it is another prisoner attempting to be free and starts to have hope that this is his big chance to escape as well.
